Junior Cougars, Griffins Hockey, Wave All-Stars (Regional Development Group) and Selects Hockey announce a strategic alliance to rapidly grow the Canadian market

Burlington, ON - December 31, 2009 the boys ELITE/AAA Junior Cougars, Griffins Hockey and the ELITE girls Wave All-Stars a Regional Development Group of programs for hockey athletes, today announced it has signed a definitive Agreement with Selects Hockey, a hockey development organization that provides top players with an opportunity to compete against, develop and play with the top teams and players in the world. Under the terms of the Agreement, the Regional Development Group will have the rights to leverage the respective Selects' Hockey brands (Cougars Selects, Renegades and Selects Hockey) across its entire base of over 500 hockey athletes. During the 2010 Spring/Summer season the Regional Group will continue to develop athletes and participate in tournaments as it has in previous years, however will proudly be branded with the Selects' Brands; additionally this alliance, will bring an Elite Boys & Girls Tournament to Burlington, ON. The Selects Hockey Tournament Series will now offer Cougars Classic Canada for the boys which will see teams come from across the US and Canada compete May. 28- 30 2010 and the Renegades Classic for the girls the following week June 4 - 6 2010. Furthermore Selects Hockey will offer a Selects Hockey Local Training Center in Burlington that will focus on pure skill development ONLY in the spring of 2010.

About Selects Hockey The Selects Hockey Program was formed in 2003 with a simple goal; to provide deserving players with an opportunity to compete against, develop and play with the top teams and players in the world. In 2010, Selects Hockey will compete in tournaments across the world and field Spring Hockey's top teams at the ‘94 through ‘03 age levels. We are committed to working with dedicated, talented young hockey players from around the globe in their off season, and providing them with the highest level of coaching, development, education and competition. Our alumni achievements include 37 NHL Draft picks in 3 years (2007-2009), hundreds of players drafted into the CHL and over 52 players committed to NCAA hockey programs.
